The French House

We have a vision for tomorrow.

As the unparalleled leader of undergraduate education at LSU, we know our campus community and peer institutions look to our example. We will deliver on our promise to prepare all Ogden Honors students for the world that awaits them beyond the French House windows and our beloved oak-lined paths. In turn, we will raise the profile of Louisiana and the South, thanks to the quality of our graduates and the breadth of our research and scholarship.

Fundraising Priorities

Prof. Arms and students

Best Students: Honorific Scholarships

Funding will triple the number of "full-cost-of-attendance scholarships," ensuring that LSU attracts and retains the highest caliber of students from across the nation and around the world.

Honors College graduates

Best Students: Endowed Thesis Prize

A Senior Thesis Award would encourage students to pursue the highest honors distinctions and would be a catalyst for transforming the college into a nationally recognized center for intellectual excellence.

Best Faculty: Develop Core Honors Faculty

We will identify and develop a robust group of Core Honors Faculty to provide instruction of the highest quality that exemplifies practices at the forefront of teaching innovation.

Best Faculty: Course Development

We will establish the Ogden Fellows Program to provide faculty with resources for the development of new, exciting courses that are on the cutting edge of higher education instruction.

Innovative Curriculum: LASAL Initiative

No other college or university in the nation has a program similar to LASAL, which empowers students to creatively solve chronic local problems surrounding coastal erosion and poverty, our state’s most imminent issues.

Innovative Curriculum: Honors Abroad

Support will allow more students to take advantage of global education and will underwrite costs for faculty to facilitate these courses, with a goal of growing to five study abroad programs.

Campus Within a Campus: Reimagining of the Honors Campus

Upon completion of exterior renovations to the historic French House, the 10.5-acre Honors Campus will replicate the atmosphere of a small liberal arts college within the larger construct of LSU.

Culture of Excellence: Office of Scholarship and Fellows and Honorific Scholarships

Gifts will help to endow the directorship, provide stipend support for graduate assistants and assistant directors, and fund resources to help students successfully apply for and earn the world’s highest awards for scholarship.
