Our collaborative approach to ensuring that all members of the campus community feel welcome and included builds on the university’s strength in diversity.
Educational attainment is one of the greatest equalizers to upward mobility; successfully completing college has implications for the uplift of not just students, but also their families and communities. Your gifts will transform LSU into a national leader in helping underrepresented populations succeed. You will bring together the LSU community in examining multidimensional perspectives of personal and cultural engagement through intellectual curiosity and advocacy, for the benefit of the entire university and the world.
PMSP is designed to retain high-achieving underrepresented students by providing academic support, professional and leadership development, and mentorship. Your gifts will help us to double the number of scholars we support.
Your gifts will help to increase the number of diverse faculty at LSU across all majors by providing resources to ensure that LSU is supporting the professional development of current faculty and is competitive in attracting diverse scholars to join our community.
Your gifts will provide infrastructure and programmatic support for addressing the significant challenges that revolve around diversity, equity, and inclusion at LSU, providing an opportunity to shift the climate of the university.
Your gifts will increase the number of first generation and underrepresented students studying abroad, provide scholarships and programmatic support for students, and develop international opportunities for faculty and administrative exchanges.
One in four underrepresented students drops out of college before sophomore year. Decisions to persist to graduation are often driven by finances. We can ensure that funding doesn’t impede earning a degree.
Gifts will support co-curricular experiences including the Black Male Leadership Initiative, Genesis Tutoring and Mentoring, cultural organizations (NASO, HAS, AASA, etc.), and a multicultural student leadership conference.
Gifts will support the LSU Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to empower and engage all members of the LSU community in examining multidimensional perspectives of personal and cultural engagement.
Gifts will support the LSU Office of Multicultural Affairs, the LSU Women’s Center, the Clarence L. Barney, Jr. African American Cultural Center, and the LGBTQ+ Project and enable these units to reach more students through sustainable programs and initiatives designed to intentionally support the unique needs of our underrepresented student populations.
Your investment in LSU will shape our role in leading Louisiana and impacting the world
