LSU Law is dedicated to our mission of scholarship, teaching, and service, and to preserving Louisiana’s unique legal heritage, which combines the finest of French and Spanish civilian legal traditions with the breadth of the Anglo-American common law. At our educational core is the knowledge that learning both legal systems ensures access to national and international markets. We prepare practice-ready graduates who lead in the public and private sectors in the U.S. and around the world.
With added scholarship support, we can continue to produce a well-qualified, diverse student body drawn from a rich cross-section of backgrounds, talents, experiences, and perspectives from around the world.
Gifts will support student field placements; Moot Court and Advocacy Team travels for competitions; Professional Practice faculty; Clinical Legal Education faculty, and operations of the Clinical Legal Education program.
Gifts will provide financial aid to students interested in the energy field and provide funds to support students in field placements throughout Louisiana and the country—a critical investment in our economic future.
Gifts will strengthen, advance, and preserve our bijural legal culture by increasing the support for teaching and research in civil and comparative law; international study; and enhanced programming by the Center for Civil Law Studies.
The 3 + 3 Program allows students to receive a bachelor’s degree and a law degree in six years. Gifts will support scholarships and an LSAT preparation course for 3 + 3 students.
Funds will be used to renovate the Clinical Legal Education space, provide faculty office upgrades, renovate the entrance area and second floor access, and provide updated library spaces and Instructional Technology needs.
Funds raised will underwrite tuition waivers, faculty research, academic programming such as special lectures and visitors, student organizations that make student life more engaging than ever, and alumni programming, among other priorities.
