LSU helps people lead richer lives and become stronger critical thinkers and more creative problem solvers.
Give NowThe arts are an essential element of a well-rounded education and a purposeful life, inspiring new ways of thinking and cultivating the holistic skill sets our students need to excel. Likewise, the culture of Louisiana is vibrant and multi-layered. You hear it in our music, taste it in our food, and see it in our architecture. By celebrating our uniqueness and raising awareness of global values and beliefs, we continually strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Across the state, LSU’s visual and performing arts programs flourish; throughout the world, we create art and perform music and theater. Our faculty and graduate students visit indigenous communities to document and protect their histories. And our immersion programs prepare students to be globally engaged. These endeavors deepen our understanding of one another and strengthen our bonds, bridging subject matter expertise with experiences that impact our ability to communicate, connect, and lead effectively.
Petrouchka Moïse is fierce for preserving her cultural heritage and artists’ legacies. Moïse, a Doctor of Design in Cultural Preservation Student in the LSU College of Art & Design, is creating a digital archive of Haitian artists’ work. As a Haitian artist herself, Moïse is interested in exploring how Haitian art affects our culture, society, and identity.
Your investment in LSU, in support of the campus you choose, will reflect your dedication to shaping our role in leading Louisiana and impacting the world.
